Ruaha is Tanzania’s biggest elephant sanctuary. Its name derives from the Great Ruaha River which flows along its eastern border, creating spectacular gorges. Flowing into the Rufiji River, the Great Ruaha is home to hippo and crocodile. Various antelope species, such as eland, grant’s gazelle, impala, greater and lesser kudu, reedbuck, waterbuck and the rare sable and roan antelope thrive in the grasslands bordering the river alongside buffalo, giraffe and zebra.

DAY 1

Ruaha River Lodge

Ruaha situated in its own forest reserve bordering Africas largest protected area the wild Selous Game Reserve. The camp set up along the mighty Rufiji River near the Mtemere gate, the Eastern gate to the Selous Game Reserve.

DAR ES SALAAM - SELOUS NATIONAL PARK-(Nyerere)

Meet at the agreed point in Dar es salaam by Wild Drama representative then transferred to the Airport to catch coastal Aviation flight in the morning and fly to Ruaha National Park. On arrival Meet and greet with Driver guide who will give you a short brief about your safari. Head for game viewing at Ruaha National Park which is well-known for its rare sable antelope, roan antelope, and big herds of elephants. The park symbolizes an evolution zone where eastern and southern African flora and fauna overlap. Then drive to Ruaha River lodge which is built on a rocky ridge with a stunning view of the great Ruaha river. Ruaha offers incredible game screening and the detail that the Ruaha National Park is still quite mysterious and has only just been developed for tourists makes it extra special. You can drive for hours without encountering another soul, and the peace and solitude are overwhelming.
DAY 2

Ruaha River Lodge, Old Mdonya River Camp

RUAHA NATIONAL PARK - walking safari

The goal of this day is to depart the lodge with a picnic lunch for your full day game drive enjoying and exploring the landscape and scenery of this unique National park, overnight at Ruaha

OR:

On this day you will be accompanied by an armed ranger for early morning walking safaris inside the park, and return to the lodge/camp for breakfast. Noon hours shall be set at your own leisure at the lodge. At about 1500hrs depart for evening sunset Game drive in the Park.
DAY 3

Our recommendations are:

RUAHA - FLY TO DAR ES SALAAM OR ZNZ

Breakfast served at the lodge, then drive to the Msembe Airstrip for flight to Dar Es Salaam/Zanzibar departing at 09:45H arriving Dar es Salaam at 12:00H, You will be picked up and transferred to your drop off point.
