AFTER SCHOOL CLASSES
WiLD provides afternoon and evening acting classes for students aged 6-15 years.
These classes are designed to cater for students regardless of whether
they are experienced or absolutely new to acting and theatre. We are able
to move students to their next level through empathetic and experienced
teaching and facilitation.
Courses are held on a term-by-term basis, usually for 10 weeks each term.
THEMES:
Core skills (as mentioned on the homepage) are approached
through a different theme each term. This allows students
to approach the skills from a variety of angles. Past
themes have included pantomime, embarrassing moments,
T.V stars, dance, musical theatre, puppets, clowning,
mask, storytelling, nursery rhymes... The many students
who stay with WiLD for several years are able to use the
different themes to develop and extend their talents
without becoming bored - as if drama is ever boring!!
Students who come to classes run by WiLD may have had a variety of performance experiences previously. While some are absolute beginners, others have dance, acting, modelling, speech/drama experience. The good thing about WiLD classes is that we are able to deal with ALL levels of experience yet still take each individual child to the next stage of learning for them - when they are ready. Students are not limited by lack of reading skills, experience or confidence. The tutor's skills and experience as a school teacher means that rather than being a limitation often these factors are enhanced and developed through classes - WHAT A BONUS!
WiLD is all about learning through fun and success.
We are not about becoming a star of TV, modelling or
getting an agent - we'll leave that to the others. We
are dedicated to helping students discover their acting,
social and personal attributes and abilities. In other words, becoming
the STAR of their LIFE!
COURSE DETAILS:
CLASSES ARE CURRENTLY HELD IN:
BELL POST HILL, GEELONG: Thursdays 4.30-5.30pm for 8-12 year olds
BELL POST HILL, GEELONG: Thursdays 5.45-6.45pm for 12-15 year olds
These courses begin 17th July 2008 and run for 10 weeks.
MYERS ST, GEELONG: Fridays 5.30-6.30pm for 6-12 year olds
This course begins 8th August and runs for 6 weeks.
We are also taking registrations of interest for:
- A Friday evening class for Grade 1-6 students - to be held in a central location after 5.30pm.
- Classes for Grade 1-6 in other locations - especially Lara and Belmont areas. These will be held after 5.30pm during the week or during the day in the weekend (Sunday?).
COST:
$100 per term - 10 weeks (where possible)
$60 per short course (6 week course)
A family discount of 10% is available for siblings.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING: Just wear clothes appropriate for movement, have a pinch of enthusiasm & put on a big smile!!
START DATES:
Term 3: Week 1 July 17th 2008
Term 4: Week 1 October 9th 2008
